Blogging, Podcasts and Wikis

Welcome! This wiki is here to support Bloomington teachers as they learn about using Web 2.0 tools in the classroom.

Web 2.0

It's the buzzword for interactive Internet technology—it includes blogging, wikis, social networking sites (myspace), photo sharing (flikr), social bookmarking, podcasting, and much more. Check out the Classroom 2.0 wiki for examples of classroom uses for Web 2.0 technology. Also take a look at the Classroom 2.0 Ning (a social networking site for educators--unfortunately it's blocked at school so try it at home).

"Gaming, RSS and Blogs are totally normal in 2008. Not to be using them is to be well behind the curve of your average user. Few users will be able to point to them since they're just normal. It would be like asking users to point to HTML, CSS or SMTP. They're like the freon in your fridge."

From Stephen Abram, SirsiDynix's Vice President of Innovation
